Cigarettes smuggled in cartons of tea found by customs and border polis officers at Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint

68 600 units smuggled cigarettes were confiscated by Customs and border police officers at Kapitan Andreevo  border checkpoint.  Excisable goods were found on the border check point - Kaptain Andreevo on entering the country of a car with Bulgarian registration, traveling to Romania. The car "Chrysler Grand Voyadzher" driven by a 49-year-old Syrian citizen, holder of ID with address Romania's capital, Bucharest, was selected for detailed check. Previously the companion of the driver, also a Syrian citizen, declared to the customs inspectors that brings 40 boxes of cigarettes without excise banderol. The inspection found that besides the declared non-taxed cigarettes in the luggage compartment of the the car in boxes under the packets of tea, are concealed 67 800 pieces of non-taxed cigarettes. The cigarettes are branded "Oscar", "Gitanes", "Mirado", "Royal", "Veltel" and "Kent".
