Customs officers in Svilengrad revealed 828 grams silver jewelry hidden in travel bag

828 grams silver jewelry was revealed by customs officers in the secret place in travel bag of Romanian citizen. Smuggling jewels are found during inspection at  Kapitan Andreevo check point on passenger bus traveling from Istanbul  to Bucharest. In special prepared concealment in a bag of 46 -year-old woman from Romania customs officers found 828 grams of silver jewelry. From the concealment were removed 35 silvers medallions, 68 pairs of silver earrings, 18 silvers chains, 33 silvers rings, 11 silvers bracelets. According to the expert estimation jewelry are worth 4000 BGN.

Silver jewelry was detained and will be confiscated by the state, and the violator will be fined 1000 BGN.

Svilengrad Customs house reminds that duty-free import of articles of silver is 300 grams, and jewelry and accessories from alloys of gold and platinum is 60 grams.
