Over 18.7 kg opium hidden in fire extinguishers was revealed by customs officers at Captain Andreevo checkpoint. The drug was found during a detailed check of Turkish truck entering Bulgaria from Turkey, driven by a Turkish citizen. The truck was referred for an X-ray control in which customs officer established unusual density of the two fire extinguishers. After the dismantling and removal of their bottoms, customs officers found hidden inside a dark brown resinous substance with a total weight of 18.730 kg, reacted positively to opium.

The truck and the driver were arrested. Pretrial proceeding is initiated, according to the inventory of the Svilengrad Customs House.
