More than 55 000 counterfeit items with logos of famous brands were discovered in Plovdiv

More than 55 000 counterfeit items with logos of famous brands were discovered in on two successive instances in Plovdiv.

Total 52 247 male, female and children's clothing suspected of being produced in violation of intellectual property rights have been seized in a joint operation by Customs Plovdiv and Territorial Directorate of the National Security Agency, under the direction of Plovdiv District Prosecutor's Office.

The clothes were transported in a truck with Turkish registration, traveling from Turkey to Bulgaria.

The product is declared for import as produced in Turkey Women's, men's and children's clothes without a Legal detailed description of the trademarks.

The truck was selected for detailed check where it becomes clear that the truck carrying 35,732 sweaters, vests, T-shirts, shirts and pants with figurative and verbal signs of trademarks "Tom Tailor", "Tom Thompson", "Jennyfer", "De Facto", "Jules", "Silver Sun", "Esprit", "Lee Cooper", "Bershka", "s.Oliver", "Slazenger", "Bеllfield","Next Up",  "Place Est. 1989".  Indications "Made in Bangladesh" were found on clothing. Other total 16,515 pieces of clothing in the same truck have been with cut labels to deceive the customs authorities. The case was submitted to the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Plovdiv. Pre-trial proceedings have been instituted.

 

In the second case, again a detailed check was made on the truck coming from Turkey. 205 boxes containing a total of 2800 textile jackets brand LS2 were found during the inspection. Pre-trial proceedings have been instituted in the case and Plovdiv Regional Prosecutor's Office was notified.
