Mobile customs teams detected an illegal brandy (rakia) depot in village of Korten



After conducting operative investigation actions, three mobile customs teams detected a depot for storage and distribution of an illegal brandy (rakia) in village of Korten near Nova Zagora. It was taking place in a private property of a famous restaurateur in the region. 1-ton alcohol tanks, as well as 200 10-liter tubes contained ready for sale 43.9% vol. rakia. There were no documents, proving the origin of the illegal alcohol.

The alcohol was detained and samples of it were taken to be examined at the Central Customs Laboratory. The investigation on the case is continuing, aiming to prove whether this depot is the main distributor of the illegal alcohol in the area of Sliven, Stara Zagora and Nova Zagora.
