Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP seized 2380 boxes of smuggled cigarettes "gifts for friends"

Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo seized  2380 boxes (47 600 pieces) of smuggled cigarettes and 9.5 kg of smoking tobacco in three cases.

In the first case was initiated summary proceeding by investigating customs inspector at Svilengrad Customs House against a 33 years old man, a Turkish citizen. The man enters the country from Turkey by car with Turkish registration. In the car traveled his wife and their two-year child. The car was selected for detailed check. Customs officers found under the seats in factory cavities in the luggage total 740 boxes of cigarettes „MM", „LM" and „Karelia slims" without excise labels. The man explained that brings cigarettes as gift for friends in Bulgaria. For friends in Bulgaria were designed other 1 640 boxes of cigarettes „MM" and „Akhtamar" also without excise labels. These gifts carried in three plastic bags 32-year-old woman traveling in a bus from Turkey to Bulgaria.

In the third case the customs officials found 9.5 kg of smoking tobacco hidden in 6 plastic package. The packages were owned by a Romanian citizen traveling in a car.

Tobacco products were seized. The cases were initiated summary proceeding by investigating customs inspectors at Svilengrad Customs House.
