1, 2 million pieces of contraband cigarettes, meant for the European market, were seized by customs officials in Sofia

Customs officials of "Customs Intelligence and Investigation" department of Stolichna Customs House seized 1, 2 million pieces of contraband cigarettes in Sofia. The illegal good was meant for a country in the European Union and it was presumably made in Bulgaria.

A Pre-trial procedure was initiated.

During two other inspections in the last few days, the customs officials of "Customs Intelligence and Investigation" department of Stolichna Customs House have checked two automobiles, in which more illegal cigarettes were discovered. Pre-trial procedures were initiated on these cases as well. 60 000 pieces of illegal cigarettes were seized later from two addresses, in which the drivers of the two inspected automobiles, have been keeping the excise goods.

The investigation on the cases is continuing.
