Over 1 million pieces of smuggled cigarettes were destroyed under the surveillance of Svilengrad Customs House

1 194 680 pieces of smuggled cigarettes and 44 kg of tobacco for cigarettes were destroyed under the surveillance of Svilengrad Customs House. The cigarettes were seized over the period between 2012 and 2014 at Kapitan Andreevo BCP and Kapitan Petko Voivoda BCP. In one of the cases of cigarette seizures in 2012, the customs officials at Kapitan Petko Voivoda BCP discovered 109 200 pieces of "Ruby Slims" cigarettes, hidden in secret places of a car with Bulgarian License Plates. In another case, in an entering the country truck, the customs officials found 100 000 pieces of "Valentine Slims" cigarettes. According to the documents, the truck was conveying toilet paper.

 

This is the second procedure of seized for violating the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act tobacco products destruction, executed under the surveillance of Svilengrad Customs House for 2015. Last month there were destroyed 920 000 smuggled cigarettes.
