Rousse customs officers found contraband cigarettes in the tools box and refrigerator of a Turkish truck



Rousse customs inspectors found illegally transferred 150 boxes of cigarettes without excise stamps in Turkish truck. The car was traveling from Turkey to Sweden. 56-year-old driver said he did not carry excise goods, but the truck was targeted for a detailed check. Inspectors have found 90 boxes of cigarettes in the tool box under the driver's seat. Other 60 boxes of cigarettes were hidden in the refrigerator vehicle. The cigarettes were branded "L & M Red Label", "Davidoff" and "Pall Mall" with the words "Duty Free" and without labels. The driver admitted that he purchased tobacco from duty-free shop in Turkey. Initiated investigation is conducted in terms of "immediate production." The driver was arrested in Ruse arrest.
