A customs inspection conducted by a mobile customs team in two gas stations in Varna ascertained over 5000 liters of illegal fuel, as well as other violations regarding the devices, located at the gas stations.

The first gas station contained four gas dispensers and four underground gas tanks. The staff claimed one of the gas dispensers wasn`t working and it was not been linked to the gas tanks, and the one of the gas tanks was empty. However, the inspection proved that the gas dispenser was operating and was been linked to the gas tanks. According to the level measuring system of the gas station, the gas tank was empty, but the customs officials found out that there was a supply of 4068 liters of fuel in it. The National Revenue Agency as well as the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance were acquainted about the discrepancies that have been ascertained in the gas station. The analysis proved that the features of the fuel that has been found in the gas tank don`t respond to the documentation. An Administrative Offence Act, which foresees a sanction representing the value of the fuel plus the double rate of the excise duty, was drawn up.

In the second inspected gas station the mobile customs team ascertained a purposeful attempt to affect and manipulate the devices in one of the three underground fuel tanks. During the inspection the customs officials found out that the channel/tube for measure the existing fuel was clogged. After dismantling the channel/tube it was ascertained that there was 1030 liters of fuel with color and smell resembling diesel. The fuel was seized. The company will be drawn up an Administrative Offence Act.
