Thousands of perfumes, clothes and shoes, imitating worldwide brands, were seized by the customs officials at Kapitan Andreevo BCP

Nearly 7000 sports kits, shoes, perfumes and toilet waters were seized by the customs officials at Kapitan Andreevo BCP due to suspicions of infringing Intellectual Property Rights of 30 world famous brands.

2782 perfumes, most of which bearing labels of PACO RABBANE, NINA RICCI, ARMANI, LACOSTE, DOLCE & GABANA brands, were found in the personal luggage of two Romanian ladies who were travelling from Turkey through Bulgaria to Romania by a bus with Romanian License Plates. The two women admitted that they had bought the perfumes from Istanbul and hadn`t known that they were counterfeit.

More 360 perfumes and toilet waters were seized from the personal luggage of another Romanian citizen, travelling from Istanbul to Bucharest by a bus with Turkish License Plates. Customs officials discovered also that two other passengers, travelling on the same bus, were carrying 360 counterfeit sports shoes bearing ADIDAS and NIKE logos.

1560 counterfeit pairs of shoes, 1045 sports kits and 840 men and women blouses bearing world famous brands logos were seized from a truck with Romanian License Plates during another customs inspection  at Kapitan Andreevo BCP. The vehicle entered the country from Turkey. In compliance with EU Regulation No 608/2013 and the Law on Brands and Geographic Indications, the rights owners of the relevant brands will be informed about the seizure.
