34,400 pieces of illegal cigarettes, concealed in cavities of a car, were seized by customs officers at the Kapitan Petko Voyvoda BSP

Customs officers found 34,400 pieces of illegal cigarettes in a car traveling from Greece to Bulgaria through Kapitan Petko Voyvoda BCP.

Mobile customs group and customs inspectors from Customs Plovdiv stopped to check the car in which three Bulgarian citizens have traveled.

During a thorough customs inspection customs officers found that cavities in the instrument panel and in the doors of the car were filled with cigarette brand MM.

Total 1720 boxes / 34,400 pieces / cigarettes without Bulgarian excise labels have been taken out  of the cavities of the car. The driver and car have been detained. Pre-trial proceedings have been instituted in connection with the case in Plovdiv Customs House.
