Customs Officers at Lesovo BCP found 1,5 kilos of heroin

Bulgarian customs officers at Lesovo checkpoint seized 1,538 kilos of heroin. The drug haul was found during a customs check on a car with Bulgarian registration, traveling from Turkey to Bulgaria. It was driven by Bulgarian citizen. The vehicle was selected for detailed check in joint operation by officers of the Agency "Customs", police officers Directorate Combating Organized Crime and officers of Border Police. During the customs check on the car, including with a specialized X-ray system, does not reveal secret compartments or suspicious objects. But during the customs inspection of the driver were found 2 packages gummed on his body and 1 package in his handbag. The packages are full of powder substance - heroin. The total quantity of drug detained was 1, 538 kg. Over 15 000 doses can be made of this quantity of heroin if he had reached the black market. The value of the heroin at prices of the judicial system is up to 200 000 BGN. The drug was seized and will be submitted for laboratory expertise. The driver- Bulgarian citizen was detained. A pre-court proceeding was initiated on the case. The investigation continues.
