Mobile customs group detained a truck with 16.2 tons smoking tobacco, declared as wastes



Mobile customs group detained at Kulata BCP a truck with 16.2 tons smoking tobacco. The truck is owned by Bulgarian company driven by a Bulgarian citizen, traveling from Greece via Bulgaria to France. At Kulata BCP the truck was selected for detailed customs inspection by a mobile customs group. The driver showed documents that carry 16.2 tons of tobacco waste. Customs officials detained the truck and tobacco. Samples were taken for analysis conducted in the Central Customs Laboratory. The expertise categorically proves that the product is actually cut smoking tobacco. Tobacco is detained. The case will be forwarded to the prosecution.  The excise duty on tobacco amount is 2.5 million BGN, according to Bulgarian legislation.
