Customs Officers at Malko Tarnovo seized banned pesticides from a tourist bus full of smuggled goods



Customs Officers at Malko Tarnovo BCP seized 108 liters of banned pesticides, 1380 boxes of smuggled cigarettes and 90 vials of undeclared perfumes from bus with Turkish registration, traveling from Turkey through Bulgaria to Romania with passengers. The driver and all passengers have stated they had nothing to declare. The customs officers selected the vehicle for a detailed customs check. During the detailed check, Customs inspectors found that the bus is full of smuggled goods in various hiding places. Were seized 300 factory packages containing a total of 108 liters pesticides from three different brands produced in Turkey , banned for import and use in the EU. Were found three boxes with 90 vials of 100 ml perfumes  brand "Tom Ford Back Orchid". In the ceiling of the bus were found  27, 600 pieces / 1380 boxes / of cigarettes without excise stamp of the brand "ASHIMA"  all with  the  inscription  "DUTY FREE". The driver explained that pesticides, cigarettes and perfume are for different recipients in Romania. The smuggled goods were seized. A stratement for violation of the Law on Customs was issued against the driver of the bus- a Turkish citizen.
