Customs Officers at Lesovo BCP found smuggled cigarettes in gas bottle of a car

Customs Officers at Lesovo BCP found full of smuggled cigarettes a gas bottle of a car with Bulgarian registration, during customs check with specialized X-ray machine. The car brand "Ford Focus 1.8" was traveling from Turkey to Bulgaria. The car was selected for a detailed customs check during the joint activities of border police officers and customs officers.  During the check, customs officers found an unusual density of the contents of a gas bottle. It was found that the bottle, instead of fuel, is filled with 7200 pieces / 360 boxes / of cigarette brand "Assos Slims" and inscriptions "For Duty Free Sale Only". The contraband cigarettes were seized. A stratement for violation of the Law on Customs was issued against the driver of the car- Bulgarian citizen with initials S.A. and address registration in the city Yambol. In the last day Customs Officers at Lesovo BCP uncovered 4 attempted for illegal importation of cigarettes from Turkey in secret compartments of three cars with Bulgarian registration and a cargo truck, also with Bulgarian registration. Were seized a total of 16,800 pieces / 840 boxes / of  cigarettes without excise stamps of various trademarks, including "OME", "Karelia Slims", "LM", "Assos Slims", etc., most with inscriptions "For Duty Free Sale Only ", and 2 kg of cut tobacco for cigarettes. Were drawn four acts of violation of the Law on Customs, the violators are Bulgarian citizens.
