Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP prevented another attempt to carry of smuggle silver jewelry

Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP found and seized a large amount smuggle silver jewelry. The jewelry was found in Turkish bus, entering the country from Turkey. The driver and the passengers did not declare any goods, precious metals and currency. The customs officers selected a bus for detailed customs check. During the inspection the customs officers found hidden under the seat two bags with a total 2 292 silver jewelry: 570 earrings, 442 medallions, 398 rings, 356 bracelets and 526 chains. According to the expert estimation silver jewelry were with a total weight of 5,229 kg and high sample 925 are worth 21 000 BGN.

The smuggled silver jewelry was seized.

The passenger, 45-years old Turkish citizen from Istanbul, was sanctioned according to the Monetary Law.

Since the beginning of the year the customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo found and seized over 16 kg of silver jewelry.
