Customs Officers at Lesovo BCP found smuggled cigarettes in Iranian truck

Customs Officers at Lesovo BCP found and seized 14 000 pieces of cigarettes without excise stamps during customs check of a truck with Iranian registration.  The truck brand Volvo was traveling from Iran to Bulgaria driven by an Iranian citizen. The driver declared that he does not carry goods to declare. The truck was selected for a detailed customs check. The contraband cigarettes with brand "Victory slims deluxe" were hidden in a secret compartment under the bed in the driver's cabin. After dismantling of the bed, customs officers found that the metal box under the mattress is filled with 700 boxes of cigarettes without excise stamps. A statement for violation of the Law on Customs was issued against the driver of the truck-  Iranian citizen with initials S.S. Other 34 000 pieces / 1700 boxes / smuggled cigarettes of the same brand were seized recently by customs officers at Lesovo BCP from similar hiding places of another truck with Iranian registration.
