Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP seized gold jewelry hidden in a bra

Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP seized smuggled gold rings and earrings. The jewelry was found in Bulgarian bus entering the country from Turkey, carried by woman. The driver of the bus and all passengers did not declare any goods, precious metals or currency. Customs officers selected the bus for detailed check. In the course of a personal examination of the woman customs officers found plastic bags with the gold. In the bra of the woman the customs officers found 50 gold jewelry, among which 12 pairs of earrings, 21 rings, 9 medallions, 4 bracelets and 4 chains. According to available expertise the gold with a total weight of 255 g of 14 carats gold worth 14 280 BGN.

A few hours later during the inspection Romanian bus, customs officers found 859 g silver jewelry, hidden in ladies` handbag, Romanian citizen.

The smuggled gold and silver jewelry were seized.

The passengers, two ladies, were sanctioned according to the Monetary Law.
