Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP seized illegal cigarettes in secret compartments of two cars

Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP seized 16 000 pieces illegal cigarettes in secret compartments of two cars. In the first case customs officers found smuggled cigarettes in a Bulgarian van, entering the country from Turkey. In the van traveled driver and four of his relatives, all of them Bulgarian citizens. They did not declare any goods, precious metals or currency. The van selected for X-ray check and then was did a physical check. During the inspection customs officers found 650 boxes (13 000 pieces) of cigarettes „MM slims" without Bulgarian excise label. The cigarettes were hidden in the secret compartments in the rear seats. The cigarettes and the van were seized. A statement for violation of the Law on Customs was issued against the driver.

In another case customs officers found 150 boxes (3 000 pieces) of smuggled cigarettes, hidden in a secret compartment in a Bulgarian car, entering the country from Turkey. In the car traveled man and woman, Bulgarian citizens. They did not declare any goods, precious metals or currency. The customs officers selected the car for detailed customs check. During the inspection the customs officers found, hidden in the secret compartments in the tank 150 boxes (3 000 pieces) of smuggled cigarettes. The cigarettes and the car were seized. A statement for violation of the Law on Customs was issued against the woman.
