Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP found smuggled gold jewelry for over BGN 100 000


Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP prevented new attempt for illegal imports gold jewelry. The gold jewelry was found in Turkish truck,  entering the country from Turkey. Customs officers selected the truck for customs inspection. During inspection the customs officers found in the driver's cabin eight cardboard packages hidden in passenger bag placed in the second bed. From the packages are taken out 111 gold bracelets, 66 rings, 66  medallions  and  9 necklaces, 5 chains of  two nipple with gold plating with a total weight of 1.707 kg. According to available expertise the gold of 14 carats is worth BGN 102 425.

The jewelry and the truck were seized. The driver, Turkish citizen, were arrested. A pre-court proceeding has been initiated in the case
