Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP found hidden under the clothes of woman smuggled currency 200 000 euro

Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP found undeclared currency of 200 000 euro equivalent of BGN 391 166. The currency was found in the course of a personal examination of lady, traveling in the Bulgarian bus, entering from Turkey. The driver, the lady and any passengers did not declare any goods, precious metals or currency. Customs officers selected the bus for detailed check. In the course of a personal examination of the lady, customs officers found under the clothes specially made belt with pockets where they were hidden 4 wads with banknotes. In a handmade belt "bandolier" were found 400 banknotes in denomination of 500 euro. Undeclared currency was seized under the Currency Act the existing Regulation 1889/2005 EU.
The lady, Greek citizen at the 48 years old, was arrested. A pre-court proceeding was initiated on the case
During the weekend in another case, in Bulgarian bus, customs officers found undeclared currency of 25 000 евро, hidden in the bag of a passenger on the bus. Undeclared currency 25 000 euro with BGN equivalent of 48 000 was seized. The man was sanctioned according to the Monetary Law.
Within days, the customs officers prevented four attempts for illegal transfer of currency totaling over half million BGN.
