Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP found silver jewelry in a secret compartment of a Serbian bus


Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP prevented an attempt for smuggling silver jewelry. The jewelry was found in Serbian bus, entering the country from Turkey. The driver of the bus and passengers did not declare any goods precious metals or currency. Customs officers selected the bus for a detailed check. During the inspection the customs officers found hidden in specially made two the secret panel, above the first rear tire, ten white cardboard boxes with a 681 pairs of earrings, 330 pendant, 310 rings, 143 chains, 123 bracelets and 3 brooches. According to the expert estimation silver jewelry were with a total weight of 7,937 kg and high sample 925 are worth BGN 31 744.

The smuggled silver jewelry were confiscated. A pre-court proceeding has been initiated in the case.
