Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP prevented attempt to carry of smuggle gold jewelry

Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP discovered and seized 125 smuggle gold jewelry. The jewelry was found in the lady in a car with Romanian registration, entering the country from Turkey. The two women and the driver in the car did not declare any goods, precious metals and currency. The customs officers selected a car for detailed customs check. It the course of a personal examination of the lady with initials Mirela P., 49 years old, Romanian citizen, customs officer found five plastic bags with the gold. In the bag and in the bikini of the lady the customs officers found gold jewelry : earrings, medallions, rings, bracelets, chains and two watches. According to the expert estimation the gold jewelry with a total weight of 715.17 g worth BGN 42 910.The smuggled gold jewelry were confiscated. A pre-court proceeding has been initiated in the case.

On the same day during the inspection of Bulgarian car, customs officers found 172.47 g gold jewelry, hidden around the gearshift lever of the car. According to the expert estimation gold jewelry are worth BGN 10 342. The smuggled gold jewelry were confiscated. The driver of the car was sanctioned according to the Monetary Law.
