Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP seized smuggled gold jewelry for over BGN 85 000

Customs officers from customs mobile group found  and seized 1419 g  gold jewelry  worth  BGN 85 167   in two cases.

In the first case customs officers found and seized 1239 g gold jewelry  in Turkish bus, entering from Turkey. The driver and passengers did not declare any goods precious metals and currency. Customs officers selected the bus for thorough check. During the inspection the customs officers found hidden in the luggage of three passengers plastic  bags  full with a total 125  earrings, 27 chains, 56 medallions,  106 rings and 106  bracelets.  According to the expert estimation gold jewelry were with a total 1239 g are worth BGN 74 354. A statement  for violation of the Monetary Law was issued against the three passengers.

A day earlier customs officers during the inspection  another  bus with Turkish registration found 54 gold jewelry with a total weight of 180.23 g worth  BGN 10 813.8 . The smuggled gold jewelry found in the luggage of Romanian citizen. A statement  for violation of the Monetary Law was issued against the woman .
