Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP seized smuggled gold jewelry for over BGN 50 000

Customs officers from customs mobile group found and seized 854.31 g gold jewelry worth BGN 51 615 in two cases.

In the first case customs officers found smuggled gold jewelry in Romanian car, entering from Turkey. The driver and passengers - man, woman and  her a juvenile son did not declare any goods precious metals and currency. Customs officers selected the car for thorough check. In the course of a personal examination of the woman, Romanian citizen customs officers found hidden around of the body, cloth bag with 341.70 g rings, bracelets, necklace and one crown.  In the course of a personal examination of the man customs officers found hidden in pockets of  his jacket and pants 17 gold products of which 12 gold medallion with a total weight 88.60 g. According to the expert estimation gold jewelry were with a total 430.3 g are worth BGN е 26 175.

During the inspection in a another Romanian car, entering from Turkey customs officers found hidden in underwear Romanian citizen 424.01 g gold jewelry worth BGN 25 440.6 .

A statement  for violation of the Monetary Law was issued against the three passengers.
