Customs officers from a mobile team found 1740 boxes of smuggled cigarettes in plastic cans

1740 boxes / 34 800 pieces / of smuggled cigarettes in plastic cans were found by Customs officers from a mobile team at Customs of Lom in the area of Danube Bridge 2 during customs check in a truck with Turkish registration. The truck has shipped auto parts to a country in the European Union. The Customs mobile team stops the truck for inspection on May 6th.

Four plastic cans of 40 liters were found during the customs inspection behind bottles of mineral water, beneath the spoiler over the truck's cabin. The plastic cans were filled with a total of 174 cartons of cigarettes from different brands - some of them with a Turkish excise label, others without excise labels.

The illegal shipment of cigarettes was seized. On the case was initiated a pre-trial proceedings in the inventory of Customs of Lom
