Customs and border officers at Kapitan Anreevo BCP found smuggle pesticides

Customs and border officers at Kapitan Andreevo  border checkpoint found 465 liters and 143 kg of smuggled plant protection chemicals in two cases.

In the first case of 30.07.2017, of the "Incoming cars and buses" arrives a bus with Bulgarian registration, entering the country from Turkey. The driver and the passengers did not declare any goods precious metals or currency.  Custom officers from customs mobile group selected the bus for thorough check. During the inspection customs officers found In the luggage compartment, under the seats and in the personal luggage of one of the passengers 223 l and 30 kg of undeclared pesticides - - produced in Turkey and banned for import into Bulgaria and the EU.

A statement for violation of the Law on Customs was issued against the violator Bulgarian citizen.

In the second case of 14.07.2017, at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint arrives a car with Turkish registration, entering the country from Turkey. The vehicle is driven by a woman, a Bulgarian citizen traveling alone. The woman did not declare any goods precious metals or currency. Border Police officers have been asked to thoroughly inspect the car and passenger. During the inspection customs and border officers found in the trunk and passenger compartment are filled with 319 cans and packages containing 242 kg and 113 liters of undeclared pesticides from nine different brands - produced in Turkey and banned for import into Bulgaria and the EU.

 A statement for violation of the Law on Customs was issued against the violator Bulgarian citizen.

The contraband pesticides were seized and subject to destruction.

In the past two months, customs officers of the Kapitan Andreevo BCP have detained a total of 792.5 liters and 427.4 kg of  pesticides - - produced in Turkey and banned for import into Bulgaria and the EU.
