Customs officers seized new 2029 liters of alcohol during inspections in the Black Sea area

2 029 liters of alcohol, traded and stored in violation of the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act, were seized by customs officers during inspections in the Black Sea region for two days. 1 506 liters of ethyl alcohol with brandy characteristics were seized, 323 liters of liquid with wine characteristics and 200 liters of beer characteristics during three separate inspections - in a hotel in Kiten, in a hotel complex in the resort Sunny Beach and in a private property on the territory of Varna District. The inspections are the result of conducted operational-search actions and collected information.

On 19.08.2017 Customs officers from the customs mobile group and from Customs Stolichna, together with National Revenue Agency officers, check a hotel in city Kiten  In which they found 1 039 liters of ethyl alcohol with the characteristics of brandy in cans and without documents, in a cellar used for storage.

A day earlier on18.08.2017, the same team checks a hotel in Sunny Beach resort in which 17 plastic tubes were found containing 323 liters of liquid with wine characteristics and 4 metal kegs with 200 liters of beer, without documents for paid excise duty.

Also on 18.08.2017, a customs mobile group team has checked a private property in the village of Gospodinovo, Byala municipality, Varna district. On the territory of the property is registered a specialized small distillation facility. During the inspection in the garage room of the property were found 467 liters of ethyl alcohol without documents for paid excise duty. Samples were taken of the retained ethyl alcohol. After the laboratory analyzes, administrative penal proceedings will be initiated.
