Customs officers at Lesovo Border Chekpoint found smuggled cigarettes in the driving cabs of three trucks

Customs officers from customs mobile group and Border Police officers at Lesovo found 12 800 pieces /640 boxes/ smuggled cigarettes, hidden in factory cavities in the driving cabs of three trucks. Smuggled cigarettes have been detained during the last eight days of September.
The truck arrived at Lesovo BCP on 12.09.2017, traveling from Turkey to Sweden, via Bulgaria, driven by a Turkish citizen. The driver did not declare any goods precious metals or currency. The truck selected for detailed check. During the inspection the customs officers found 7400 pieces (370boxes) cigarettes with of the brands „LM red label" without Bulgarian excise labels, hidden in the factory cavities on both sides of the driver's cab and under the bed. On 7.09.2017 on another check customs officers found 3400 pieces /170 boxes/ of the same brand in the another truck, driven by a Turkish citizen. The truck selected for X-ray check and then was did a physical check. The smuggled cigarettes found in the factory cavities in the driving cabs. On 5.09.2017 the truck arrived at Lesovo BCP, traveling from Turkey, driven by an Iranian citizen. During the inspection the customs officers found 2000 /pieces /100 boxes cigarettes with of the brands „ Victory slims deluxe" without Bulgarian excise labels, hidden in the driver's cab.
The smuggled the cigarettes were seized. A statement for violation of the Law on Customs was issued against the three drivers.
