Customs officers dismantled an illegal distillery for alcohol in the municipality of Sliven

Customs officers from the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department at Customs of Bourgas were found an illegal alcohol distillery in working order. The facilities are dismantled. Against the owner will be fined for an administrative offense.

On 26 September 2017 customs officers carried out an inspection in a deregistered SMOD (specialized small distillery) on the territory of the village of Dragodanovo, Sliven municipality. The object was owned by a local cooperative but was sold to a private individual and at the time of the inspection there is no valid registration as a specialized small distillery. Customs officers found two alcohol distilleries with a capacity of 250 liters, loaded with raw material and in working mode, during the inspection. The owner did not provide the required registration certificate, under the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act. The facilities have been dismantled and detained by customs officers. An act of administrative violation will be issued against the owner.  In this case, the fine is from BGN 1 000 to 3 000 for an individual, under the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act.
