Customs officers found 312 517 liters of alcohol products in violation of the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act in series of inspections

Customs officers found 1217 liters of brandy, 6350 l of alcohol and a total of 304 950 l of wine and raw material for its production.

In the period 23-24.10.2017, a customs mobile group has carried out an inspection of an alcohol producer in the region of Sofia. Customs officers carry out an inspection of the two tax warehouses owned by the same legal entity. During the inspection customs officers were found 304 950 liters of wine and raw material not found to be available, and are respectively a shortage or a surplus.

Two other inspections revealed 6000 liters of alcohol. In both cases are not presented documents certifying payment, charge or security of excise duty under the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act.

On October 25, 2017 customs officers at Customs Plovdiv House and police officers from Regional Police Directorate of Plovdiv carry out a check on a private home in the village of Katunitsa. During the inspection customs and police officers found 1000 liters of alcohol in a plastic container, hidden in the cargo space of a van parked in the courtyard of the house. The illegal alcohol and van were seized by customs officers. The alcohol samples were taken for laboratory analysis. Administrative penal proceedings have been initiated in the case.

Also on 25.10.2017 customs officers from Customs of Stolichna were found 5350 liters in the Radomir region. A part of the alcohol 1175 liters were found in a private home and 4150 liters in truck. During the inspection customs and polis officers were found 84 240 pieces /4212 boxes/ cigarettes, without a Bulgarian Excise Label.

On October 27, 2017 г. two customs mobile group and police officers from the Department of Economic Police carry out a check on a private home in the town of Byala cherkva, the municipality of Pavlikeni. During the inspection customs and police officers were found 311 liters of alcohol distributed in PVC tubes with a capacity of 5 to 19 liters.

On 25.10.2017 customs officers from customs mobile group were found 444 liters of ethyl alcohol in containers of different capacity - 16 tubes of 11 liters and 2 cans in the shelter of the house in the town of September .

On another check on October 24, 2017 customs mobile group carry out a check on a garage on a block of  flat in the town of Dimitrovgrad. During the inspection customs officers were found that the person using the garage kept three pieces of PVC cans, each with a capacity of 120 l. The total amount of alcohol found is 259 liters of brandy-like liquid. During the inspection customs officers were found also a PVC container with a capacity of 25 liters, containing alcohol.

 

On October 26, 2017 customs mobile group carried out an inspection in a deregistered SMOD /specialized small distillery/ on the territory of the village of Gotse Delchev Municipality. At the time of the inspection there is no valid registration as a specialized small distillery. Customs officers found 200 liters illegal alcohol.

On another check on October 25, 2017 on the town of Plovdiv customs officers at Plovdiv Customs House were found and seized 3 liters of ethyl alcohol with an alcoholic strength of 50% and the illegal distillation plant.

In any case, for the detained brandy, documents under the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act. The total alcohol samples were taken for laboratory analysis. Administrative penal proceedings have been initiated in the case.
