Customs officers at Kapitan Anreevo BCP found more than 500 liters smuggled pesticides


Customs and border officers at Kapitan Anreevo BCP found 580 liters smuggle pesticides. The smuggled pesticides were found in a car, traveling from Turkey to Bulgaria. The car, with Turkish registration, arrived at Kapitan Andreevo BCP on 02.11.2017 driven by a citizen of Bulgaria. The driver declared 50 boxes of cigarettes without excise labels, who were detained with a receipt. Customs officers selected the car for thorough check. During the inspection customs officers were found in the passenger compartment and in the luggage compartment, one-liter cylinders with a total of 580 liters plant protection products chemicals banned for import into Bulgaria and the EU. A statement for violation of the Law on Customs was issued against in the driver. The smuggle pesticides and the car were seized. Since the beginning of the year, customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP seized 1695 liters and 1056 kg of pesticides forbidden to import.
