Contraband pills seized by Customs officers at Lesovo border checkpoint


251 packs of contraband medicines - tablets and ampoules were seized by customs and border officers at Lesovo border checkpoint. They were seized undeclared a total of 11 068 tablets, 1 022 ampoules and 12 creams of a total of 12 different brand names of medicines in factory packages, produced in Turkey. The medicines were found at a customs inspection of a car BMW with a Romanian registration. The car arrived at Lesovo BCP on January 26, 2018, about 15 hours from Turkey. The driver and the second passenger, Romanian citizens, have declared to Bulgarian customs officers that they did not import anything for declaration. In the customs check of the vehicle, customs officers found the undeclared medicines. The driver of the car has admitted that the medicines are his. Among the seized medicines with trademarks "ZOMETA", "LITHURIL", "MINIRIN", "DEVIT 3", "ATARAX", "ZEFFIX" and others has the action of antidepressants, sleeping and injection solutions that are used only on prescription.
Against the Romanian citizen with initials A.C. was issued an act for violation of the Law of Customs.
