Customs officers with Customs Bureau Gorna Oryahovitsa, in cooperation with the Regional Police Directorate, seized 1,912 boxes of illegal cigarettes.
In the frames of a check-up on a commercial outlet in the village of Kamenari (North Bulgaria), customs inspectors found 1,912 boxes of cigarettes, all without the required excise label or with a ‘Only for Duty Free' label.
The cigarettes were of the brands &amp;quot;Cooper&amp;quot;, &amp;quot;Lucky strike&amp;quot;, &amp;quot;MG Gold&amp;quot;, &amp;quot;Marble filter de luxe&amp;quot;, &amp;quot;Contesse classic slims&amp;quot;, &amp;quot;KING&amp;quot;, &amp;quot;Super star slims Red&amp;quot;.

Customs officers at the Zlatarevo customs checkpoint seized 400 boxes of cigarettes. All the cigarettes were of the Macedonian Vardar brand. They were found in the frames of a detailed check-up in a secret compartment in the trunk of a car.
A statement over customs violation has been drawn against a Bulgarian national, who was driving the car.

Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo customs checkpoint seized 1,426 grams of gold, the National Customs Agency reports.
Two persons driving a Renault Laguna car arrived at the checkpoint last night. After an overall check-up on the vehicle and the passengers, customs officers detected that the body of one of the persons in the car (J.L, 42) is covered with packages full of jewelry. The analysis proved the items are made of gold and are worth around BGN 57,000.
The customs officers counted a total of 243 earrings, 75 rings, 25 medallions, 10 gold necklaces and 28 bracelets.
A statement over violation under the Foreign Exchange Act has been drawn against a Polish national.
The case has been referred to the authorities in charge.

The bus was stopped on the main road E-80, and after that escorted to a hall for a thorough examination at Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint. 
During the check customs officers found 480 boxes (9600 pieces) of cigarettes of different brands without excise labels, including Assos slims (300 boxes), Marlboro white (29 boxes), Davidoff classic 100s (20 boxes), Pal Mal, Karelia, Eva Slims, and others. The cigarettes were discovered in secret compartments at the floor of the bus, driver's bed and the refrigerator. 
In wall cavities of the bus as well as in the luggage compartment, customs officers found a large number of perfumes and toilet waters in different pickings. The total amount of perfume bottles is 518, with 500 of them were found distributed in 70 boxes and hidden in the secret compartments. The found perfumes were of famous brands: Armani, Paco Rabanne, Dior, Cucci, Nina Ricci etc.
At the bottom of the luggage compartment customs officials found bags and black bags full of clothing bearing the logos of world famous brands such as Adidas, Puma, Nike, underwear and socks, Gucci, Dolce &amp;amp; Gabbana, La coste, Adidas, Nike and others. The total number of textile products was about 1538. 
During a check of a passenger's handbag were found 300 grams of white metal articles, which are labeled of silver with high sample.</description></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>http://customs.bg/en/pubs/2718</guid><title>Illegal tobacco and alcohol seized in the area of Svishtov Customs Office</title><link>http://customs.bg/en/pubs/2718</link><pubDate>Mon, 08 Mar 2010 00:00:00 +0200</pubDate><description>Customs officials seized 525 boxes of illegal cigarettes at department for confectionery in Yablanitsa. Other 80 boxes of cigarettes were seized in checking a car and at the home of a 28-year resident of the Bulgarian village officials have found 430 liters of brandy. The three checks were carried out by customs officials from Gabrovo and Lovech customs offices, together with officials of the Ministry of Interior.</description></item>
